The itinerary begins with your arrival at the Cuiabá Airport. From there, we will head toward Poconé, located approximately 100 km (62 miles) from Cuiabá and considered the last city before entering the Pantanal in this region. From Poconé, we will drive about 10 more kilometers to reach the Transpantaneira highway. The Transpantaneira is a Conservation Unit that crosses the Northern Pantanal. Spanning approximately 145 km with around 120 bridges, it offers a unique experience for connecting with nature and wildlife. There are several lodges along the Transpantaneira, and we have selected options that offer rich biodiversity and excellent opportunities for local wildlife viewing—including caimans, giant anteaters, tapirs, capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, capybaras, and various bird species. Today, this region also offers good chances of spotting jaguars. For the best jaguar-spotting experience, we recommend traveling to the very end of the Transpantaneira, where boat tours along the Cuiabá River and its tributaries provide the highest probability of sightings.        DAY 01 – Airport / Pousada Piuval – Km 7 of the Transpantaneira Arrival and Reception: Check-in at the lodge at 3:00 PM (lunch is not included). Afternoon Activity: We will go on a safari with night-spotting to try to sight diurnal and nocturnal animals, such as the giant anteater, gray brocket deer, capybaras, birds, crab-eating fox, etc. Overnight stay.   DAY 02 – Pousada Piuval Early Morning: Departure at 5:15 AM to try to spot the giant anteater (best chance). Morning Activity: After breakfast, we will hike the Capão das Araras trail to sight various birds and wildlife around the lodge, such as the hyacinth macaw, toucans, hawks, capuchin monkeys, and howler monkeys. Afternoon Activity: After lunch and a siesta, we will go on a safari with night-spotting to try to sight diurnal and nocturnal animals, such as the giant anteater, gray brocket deer, capybaras, birds, crab-eating fox, etc. Alternatively, you may choose a horseback riding tour. Overnight stay. DAY 03 – Pousada Piuval / Pousada Jofre – End of the Transpantaneira (Km 145) Early Morning: Departure at 5:15 AM to try to spot the giant anteater (best chance). Morning Transfer: After breakfast, we will head toward the lodge in Porto Jofre, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon Activity: After lunch, we will take a boat tour along the Cuiabá River and its tributaries to sight jaguars, giant otters, caimans, capybaras, and the diverse wildlife along the riverbanks. This tour lasts approximately 4 hours. Evening: After dinner, overnight stay.   DAYS 04 / 05 / 06 – Houseboat Jacaré or Jaguar do Pantanal Morning & Afternoon Activity: After breakfast, we will embark on a boat tour along the Cuiabá River and its tributaries to sight jaguars, giant otters, caimans, capybaras, and the diverse wildlife along the riverbanks. Lunch: Served on board the boat. Duration: This tour lasts approximately 8 hours. Evening: After dinner, overnight stay   DAY 07 – Jofre / Airport Departure: After breakfast, we will depart for Cuiabá.
